Ramesh Hariharan
Chief Executive Officer
Dr. Ramesh Hariharan is the co-founder and CEO of Strand, and an adjunct professor in the Department of Computer Science at the Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bangalore. At Strand, over the last 25 years, Dr. Ramesh has led teams developing analytical tools for high-throughput molecular profiling. These tools are widely used and have been cited in several thousand publications. More recently, Dr. Ramesh and his team at Strand have been working on technologies to make DNA sequencing for genetic disease diagnosis affordable in India. Dr. Ramesh’s research contributions in computer science include the development of fast algorithms for several fundamental problems. He is a recipient of the TR100 Award for Young Innovators from MIT Technology Review and, in 2003, received the Global Indus Technovator Award from MIT, instituted to recognize the top 20 Indian technology innovators worldwide.
Radhakrishna (RK) Bettadapura
Vice President, Research Informatics
Dr Radhakrishna Bettadapura, VP Research Informatics, first studied engineering as an undergrad at RV College of Engineering in Bangalore, and earned a Masters of mechanical engineering at the University of Texas in Austin, where he continued on and earned his PhD in Computational Biology and Mechanical Engineering. RK has worked in GPU-CPU implementations of bioinformatic algorithms to accelerate compute. He joined Strand Life Sciences over 13 years ago as a senior software engineer, and has held roles as Director of Bioinformatics, Senior Director and then VP of Business Development, and is presently the Vice President of Research Informatics at Strand.
Jaya Singh
Associate Vice President, Business Development
