Job Description
- Technical Sales (25%): Gather requirements from customer stakeholders regarding the scope of new projects.
- Analyze the requirements along with relevant subject matter experts at Strand to determine the feasibility of the project.
- Determine manpower and computational resource needs for new projects and work with the Business Development team ot put together project proposals.
- Engage customers to refine the requirements and converge on a statement of work for new projects.
- Be abreast of latest technologies in software development including cloud-based technologies, recent developments in traditional technologies including database design, system architecture, software development life cycle.
- Project Execution (20%): Confer with leads of the Software Development department to allocate suitable teams for the execution of projects.
- Direct timely execution of service projects with het project leads and the project teams.
- Direct organizational operations, projects, or services. Customer Engagement (30%): Communicate regular project status with customer stakeholders and solicit feedback to ensure tracking of delivery to scope of the project.
- Provide regular demos and deployments of intermediate versions of the project deliverables to enable customer's stakeholders to share early feedback in an agile manner.
- Coordinate with the customer stakeholders and internal teams ni the case of change requests to original scope of the project.
- Advise customers on al technical aspects related to the project scope, execution and deliverables.
- Visit customer site as frequently as needed throughout the execution of the project and especially at project milestones to ensure customer satisfaction of the deliverables in turn resulting in growth of the business.
- Team Management (15%): Hire team leads as needed in the Software Engineering department at Strand and oversee their performance.
- Oversee training programs for new joinees in the software department covering the necessary technologies and relevant genomics domain knowledge.
- Conduct performance appraisals for the direct reportees of the software department.
- Mentor and empower team leads of the software department to hire/fire and constitute teams needed for project execution even at short notice.
- Long-term vision (10%): Develop policies and programs pertaining to the software engineering department.
- Have a futuristic vision to nurture an environment of technical excellence as well as a culture of diligence at work.
- Travel Required to various unanticipated client sites around the United States, 20 to 30 days per year.
- May work remotely from anywhere within the United States.
